About Belcam

Since the founding of Belcam as a breeding stud when the first imported stallions arrived in December of 1984, the success of this breeding program has continued to improve dramatically due to the continuous introduction of major leading bloodlines.

For any serious stud to be successful it must be aware that bloodlines must be utilized to create the most modern and talented horses possible and therefore a continuous injection of the proven lines need to be used. With the family stud being situated in Oldenburg in Germany and being one of the most successful warmblood studs in Europe, Belcam has most certainly prospered with this advantage. Not only does the Stud prosper, but Australian breeders and riders benefit as they are given the opportunity to use Europe's top bloodlines.

Belcam Breeding Program

One of the major contributing factors to the successful progeny bred by Belcam is the careful selection of high quality stallions and mares for their breeding program. This combined with an extremely efficient breeding procedure where all mares are examined throughout their cycles with Ultrasound to maximize conception rates and pinpoint problems at an early stage, giving mare owners the best in stud service.

With the progression into the use of frozen semen and again a breeding package offered which gives mare owners the best possible chance of success with the least cost Australia wide, Belcam certainly leads in cost efficient breeding.

Belcam conducts an annual International Performance Horse auction which is synonymous to those held in Europe. Each year 30 horses are selected and trained for this event, which is usually held in November. Full colour catalogues are produced by Horse Deals magazine and a professional video is available.  This event is highly recognized by the Equestrian industry and is a proud part of Belcam.

Belcam's objective is to produce performance horses of excellent quality and to strive for continual upgrading of our breeding lines. This will give Australian and overseas buyers a better chance of having horses with capabilities of those bred in Europe without the cost of importing. The stud will continue to have a selection of breeding stock, youngsters and performance horses available to buyers and can guarantee every effort is made for the quality of these horses. It is the ambition of Belcam to see their horses competing and breeding at the highest level for the satisfaction of all involved.
